Black Creek Chore Challenge: Help out with fun and challenging chores, such as laundry and leather stitching – part of daily life in days gone by. Get to see a butter churner and an old spinning wheel. Discover why many hands make light work! Hands-on History: Pick up century-old artifacts, including the gizmos, gadgets, and tools of yesteryear, and gain a richer understanding of life in the 19th century (weather dependent as wet temperatures can damage the artifacts). Winter Merrymaking – Take part in the season’s amusements. Meet a costumed historian and hear a cozy winter story. Chime along with jingle bells as you discover 19th-century winter sports, then tap your toes as you sing along to an age-old lumberjack tune. Create your own melody with wooden spoons, enjoy old-fashioned games and more! Staff will be dressed in period clothing.
